Service Description: <div style='text-align:Left;'><p><span>Geological data that are used for a broad range of academic and practical applications, including growth-management planning, dam safety, hazard and risk assessment, water resource appraisals, resource use and protection, education, recreation, and scientific research.</span></p><p><span>This dataset portrays the geology of Washington State at a scale of 1:100,000 (1 inch equals approximately 1.58 miles). The purpose is to make the geology of the state available as a seamless dataset for use in regional spatial analyses and other digital applications and for providing a framework for planning and land management and evaluating geologic hazards and resources. It was prepared in cooperation with the U. S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Geologic Mapping Program.</span></p></div>
