The purpose of this spatial view is to display public land survey sections that have a forest practice application somewhere within them that has not been added to the forest practies spatial layer (fp_harvest). At the current time activities such as aerial spray and road work are not captured spatially. In the past some harvest units were also not captured and older activities that were converted from the old system were not captured as well. This spatial view uses the township, range and section entered in FPARS to display where the activity occurs. That legal location that is entered must be a valid township, range and section in order to be displayed. The entire section is displayed so more than just the activity area is identified. Users will need to look up the fpa document in order to see exactly where the activity was proposed. In most cases there are many activities in the same section so there will be many occurences when using the select or identify tool. This is not a complete listing of all forest practice activity locations. If any harvest unit in an fpa is contained in the fp_harvest spatial layer, all of the harvest units will be excluded from this sptial view. This is because there is no spatial relationship between harvest unit and legal location stored in the FPARS database so a determination can not be made as to which harvest unit is not spatially captured. |
